PACIFIC PALISADES (CNS) - Firefighters have stopped the forward progress of a brush fire that burned for several hours Wednesday in Pacific Palisades.
The fire, which began as an approximately 3-4 acre fire, increased to approximately 8-9 acres, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Fire crews responded at 12:17 a.m. to 1699 Via Las Palmas near Via La Costa where they encountered the flames amid 15 mile an hour winds, said LAFD spokeswoman Margaret Stewart.
LAFD Air Operations were joined by helicopters from the Los Angeles County Fire Department in making water drops on the fire area.
LACFD also sent four camp crews to the scene and firefighters coordinated directly with residents of the affected homes, Stewart said.
There are no damaged structures and no injuries have been reported, Stewart added.
Firefighters are continuing to work to gain full containment of the brush fire, using hose lines to surround the perimeter of the fire.
