Actor John Capodice Dead At 83

Actor John Capodice, best known for roles in Ace Ventura, Wall Street, Seinfeld and General Hospital, died Monday (December 30) at the age of 83, according to an online obituary shared by Pizzi Funeral Home in Northvale, New Jersey.

"John Capodice, 83, of Blauvelt, NY, formerly of Los Angeles, CA and Chicago, IL, passed away on Monday, December 30, 2024," the obituary states. "Beloved husband of Jane (nee Crawley). Cherished father of Tessa De Pierro and her husband Joseph and Cassandra Hansen and her husband Dave. Proud grandfather of David, Jake, Frankie and Giuliana. Dear brother of Kathy Magluilo and Patti Lindsay."

"John was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and will be missed by all who had the pleasure to meet him," the obituary added.

Capodice's cause of death wasn't revealed as of Thursday (January 2) morning. The Chicago native appeared opposite legendary comedic actor Jim Carrey in the 1994 film Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, playing a dismissive police officer.

Capodice also appeared in six episodes of the soap opera General Hospital as Carmine Cerullo from 1994 to 1996, as well as portraying Vic, the laundromat owner, during the seventh episode of the second season of Seinfeld. The actor is also credited for the films Wall Street, The Doors, Honeymoon in Vegas and Independence Day, as well as numerous television shows including CSI, Law & Order, Will & Grace, Melrose Place, Mad About You, Six Feet Under, The West Wing and Murder, She Wrote.
