An Ozempic new year

Is your resolution to lose weight? While getting in shape is a popular resolution this year, many are choosing to get there the new way … through weight loss drugs. A new survey found that more than 25% of Americans are planning to turn to GLP-1 medications like Ozempic and Wegovy to reach their 2025 weight loss goals. This is especially true for Gen Zers, with 37% saying they are skipping the gym and heading straight to the pharmacy. Women are more likely than men to use weight loss drugs to reach their goals – 30% compared to 20%. According to the survey, on average, women hope to lose 23 pounds in 2025, while men are looking to lose 19 pounds.

According to a study from Stockholm University in Sweden, the key to success is vowing to “start” doing something instead. The researchers found that people are 12% more likely to stick to their resolutions for the year if they avoid making vows like “I will quit …” or “I will avoid …” and instead say, “I will start ...”
