New Year's Stabbing Injures Two in Syracuse

Two individuals were injured in a stabbing incident on Syracuse's westside early on New Year's Day (January 1). Syracuse Police responded to a call at approximately 1:31 a.m. on the 300 block of Apple Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered a 22-year-old male with a stab wound to the chest. He was promptly taken to Upstate University Hospital, where he is reported to be in stable condition.

Shortly after, authorities were informed of a second victim, a 24-year-old female, who also suffered stab wounds. She was transported to the same hospital in a private vehicle and is also listed in stable condition.

The suspect, 22-year-old Alexis Germond, turned herself in to the police. She has been charged with two counts of Assault in the Second Degree and two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree.

LocalSYR reports indicate that the investigation is ongoing, and further details about the motive or circumstances surrounding the incident have not been disclosed.
