It's been a long time since Rihanna released a new album, and it's safe to say, fans really miss her singing — including Justin Bieber!
Riri attended the recent Girls Love Karaoke event, where she performed a number of her own songs, including "Needed Me" and "Sex with Me" from her most recent album, Anti (released in 2016). Videos of the performance made the rounds on social media, and found their way to Justin Bieber, who shared one on his Instagram stories, along with the caption, "Missed seein u sing Queen."
Fans also commented on the video that Bieber shared, with one fan writing, "Best thing that happened this year," while another wrote, "Even Bieber misses you girl!!!!"
Trey Songz also performed at the Girls Love Karaoke event, and several rappers, including Fabolous, Maino, Pardison Fontaine and Dave East were in attendance.
Rihanna's last album, Anti, was released in 2016 — officially nine years ago. Since then, fans have been asking the singer when she is going to release another new album, and Riri has done a good job teasing them with the possibility of new music. Her last-released song was "Lift Me Up" from the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack in 2022.
In the spring of 2024, Rihanna told Extra! of R9, "It's gonna be amazing. It has to be — that is the only reason it's not out yet. If I'm not feeling it and I'm not feeling like it represents the evolution, the time I spent away. There should be a show of growth, right?"
