Woman Convicted Of Killing Selena Is Up For Parole, Fans Are Outraged

This year marks the 30th anniversary of the murder of Tejano music legend Selena Quintanilla Perez, with her convicted killer, Yolanda Saldívar, potentially up for parole in 2025. The Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles has initiated the review process for Saldívar's parole eligibility, which includes compiling a case file, an interview with Saldívar, and input from Selena's family. Parole attorney Marshall Millard stated that Saldívar faces slim odds of being granted parole, with the board considering factors such as her behavior in prison and participation in rehabilitation programs. The parole board is expected to vote on Saldívar's case around March 30, with the possibility of reconsideration if parole is denied.
