Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson confirmed he will appear on WWE's RAW debut on Netflix Monday (January 6) night in a post acknowledging being named as a Samoan High Chief 20 years prior.

"After 20yrs of proudly carrying our culture with me around the world, I can’t wait to soon return back home to Samoa. I already have chills just thinking about it 🇼🇸❤️💪🏾. Until then, I’ll come back home to @wwe tomorrow night as we make history on @netflix and begin a new and exciting era," Johnson wrote. "Tomorrow night is dedicated to my grandfather, the High Chief Peter Maivia, my grandmother, Lia Maivia and my dad, Rocky “Soulman” Johnson and my ancestors who have ALL paved the way."

Johnson, one of pro wrestling's biggest stars before transitioning into an A-list acting career, was appointed to the Board of Directors TKO Group Holdings, Inc., the conglomerate created by Endeavor Group Holdings as part if its merger between World Wrestling Entertainment and the Ultimate Fighting Championship's parent company, Zuffa, last year. The 10-time world champion reportedly acquired 96,557 total shares, increased his ownership by 50% to 289,673, on December 31, according to an SEC commission filing.

Johnson also appeared in the Night One main event of WrestleMania 40 alongside his cousin, Roman Reigns, in a tag-team match against Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins, as well as the Night Two Undisputed WWE Championship main event match between Reigns and Rhodes. WWE announced its plans to move its longtime flagship show, RAW, to Netflix as part of a 10-year deal worth more than $5 billion.
