This year's Rex parade will be dedicated to the victims of the New Year's Day attack on Bourbon Street and their families.
The King of Carnival made the dedication on Monday while proclaiming Mardi Gras 2025.
The Krewe of Rex issued a statement about celebrating in the face of tragedy and honoring the memory of those who were lost.
The Rex parade rolls on Mardi Gras Day, which is Tuesday, March 4.
