Boynton Beach Police say a man who shot a bicyclist nine times claims he thought the victim had a gun.
33-year old Xantus Ridore told officers that he knows the man who is hospitalized but is expected to survive Monday's shooting near Northeast 2nd Street.
Ridore says he was was informed by another man about a man on a bike with a firearm and when he saw the victim, he shot at him.
Deputies reviewing surveillance footage from the outside of a store showed the bicyclist holding something that looked like a brown cigar and never turned it toward Ridore.
