1 Death Toll Rises As Los Angeles Burns
As of midnight, close to 30-thousand acres of land in Los Angeles were being affected by several fires, with the death toll standing at five people, all in the Eaton fire. Just before 9 pm Eastern time last night, a new fire broke out in the Hollywood Hills near the iconic Hollywood sign. Many residents were evacuated from the area, with the evacuation areas including the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The largest of the fires is the Palisades Fire, which had destroyed at least 300 structures and had over 13-thousand others at risk. The Eaton Fire grew to over 10-thousand acres yesterday, again with zero percent containment. Several celebrities, including James Woods and Paris Hilton, saw their homes go up in flames as the fires spread through the Los Angeles areas. The Critics Choice Awards, which were to be held Sunday, have now been postponed until January 26th in Santa Monica.

Cannon temporarily blocked the release of the report while the matter is considered by the Eleventh Circuit, and yesterday attorneys in the US Attorney General’s office said that AG Merrick Garland doesn’t plan to release the part of the report dealing with the classified documents case.
