Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has made headlines recently after he announced that Facebook would be removing fact-checkers and adding community notes, similar to what Elon Musk has done on X. But that's not all; Zuckerberg also confirmed something conservatives have known for years.

Dan Schneider with the Media Research Center says that Zuckerberg openly admitted to censoring conservatives in his recent announcement video. Schneider said, "He [Zuckerberg] specifically said, 'We censored political speech, we did it on a biased basis,' and he admitted it was wrong. Those are serious admissions."

Schneider says this change of pace from Facebook was likely influenced by a number of factors, including Trump's election victory, a change in culture, and also their own profits. He said, "What Zuckerberg specifically addressed is that the European regulatory enforcement actions, the Chinese system, and other countries like Brazil and the U.K., those are harmful to Facebook's bottom line."

Schneider says Meta has begun taking real tangible actions in order to reverse course on censorship. According to Schneider, board members Sheryl Sandberg and Nick Clegg were both leaving the company and were being replaced with "well-known Republicans, who have pretty good track records in this area."

He went on to say that the real question now is whether conservative accounts and businesses that suffered under Facebook's censorship regime will be receiving any sort of restitution from Facebook or its parent company.
