FRESNO, Calif.- Fresno State swim and dive team open the 2025 spring season hosting Pepperdine in a two-day meet at the Fresno State Aquatics Center on Jan.10 -11. Friday's contest against the Waves will be a sprint meet at 2 p.m. PT and Saturday's will be a dual meet at 12 p.m. PT.

NCAA'S MINDSET
Two Bulldogs have clocked in an NCAA 'B' cut this season. Aliz Kalmar and Jenna Pulkkinen have their consideration times set for the 100 breaststroke and Kalmar in the 200 breaststroke.
The breaststroke duo secured their times at the Toyota U.S. Open Championships in Greensboro in early December. Along with a NCAA consideration time, the two Bulldogs took home some hardware. Kalmar took second and third in the 100 and 200 breaststroke, respectively and Pulkkinen in sixth for the 100 breast. The pair still have time to swim for the automatic standard as NCAA Championships are set for Mar. 19-22 in Federal Way, Wash.
FRESHMEN FRENZIE
Three Bulldog freshmen have had a strong first half of a season. Ryley Clark posted a personal best at the Toyota U.S. Open Championships in the 100 backstroke and dropped five seconds in the 200 backstroke. Sienna Cheng-Lucey swam two personal bests at the Trailblazer invite. Dropping over four seconds in the 200 backstroke and two seconds in the 100 backstroke. Franzika Djatej dropped over four seconds in the 200 IM and three seconds in both the 50 & 100 freestyle.
PEPPERDINE WAVES
Ellie Monobe enters her fifth year leading the Waves
Pepperdine is 2-4 on the season and 0-1 on the road
Waves have competed against two other Mountain West opponents this season, 1-1
AJ Adams earned the MPSF Athlete of the Week award after winning two events and helping the Waves defeat New Mexico for the first time in program history in a double dual meet in San Diego
The Waves return all three of their All-MPSF second team honorees from last year: Alexandra Browne (50 free), Kylie Taylor (100 back) and Amanda Wong (Platform).
Pepperdine also boasts three swimmers who currently hold individual records - Browne (50 free, 100 IM), Taylor (100 back) and Lexi Haymart (500 free).
The Waves brings back everyone from last year's record-setting 200 free and 800 free relay teams in Browne, Layla Busquets, Anna Ryan, Taylor, AJ Adams, Lexi Fok, Ansley Halbach and Lindsay Hemming.
