The Game is taking action as the wildfires continue to rage in his hometown.
In the early hours of Friday, January 10, the Los Angeles native was spotted near the Rose Bowl Stadium helping citizens who were evacuated away from the fires. In a video NBCLA reporter Lauren Coronado posted, you can see the rapper, born Jayceon Taylor, in a mask as he explains how he dropped off water and coffee for the victims and volunteered to help detail firetrucks for the hard-working firefighters. He also admitted that he and his family were also evacuated.
"We're doing everything we can man," Game said in the video. "I'm just out here trying to figure it out, but as long as my kids are safe, my mom is safe, I'm good. Just out here with the people."
The Game has been one of several celebrities who have been vocal about assisting Los Angelenos in their time of need. In a touching message he posted to Instagram earlier this week, the Born 2 Rap artist expressed his sorrow about the situation and encouraged others to get to safety. He also pledged to help those affected by the fires get an Airbnb for one week free of charge. He's not the only artist to lend a hand either. Snoop Dogg also pitched in to help victims get new clothes by accepting and distributing clothing at his brick-and-mortar store Snoopy's Clothing in Inglewood.
"This is just sad. Los Angeles is really hurting right now," The Game wrote. "If you are anywhere near fires… please pack what’s necessary & evacuate immediately !!!!!!!!"
If you are in Los Angeles, The Dream Center is offering immediate support and resources to people in the community affected by the devastating fires. They have opened a shelter and are currently accepting donations including food, baby necessities, cleaning supplies and more. For more information, visit their website and social media pages.
