Buckeye Chuck Set To Poke His Head Out Of His Burrow In Marion, Ohio on Groundhog Day
WHAT: iHeartMedia Marion’s 1490 WMRN, Marion's News, Weather and Sports station, in partnership with the Cleveland Museum of Natural History will host Groundhog Day with Buckeye Chuck, Ohio’s official weather prognosticating groundhog, for is his 46th year!
Buckeye Chuck will be greeting his fans at a live in-person celebration at the Marion County Fairgrounds Colosseum on Sunday, February 2, 2025, from 7–8 a.m. The event will also broadcast live on 1490 WMRN. Fans can also catch the event on Buckeye Chuck’s Facebook Fan Page. Sponsor for the event is Pillar Credit Union.
Legend says if Buckeye Chuck sees his shadow at sunrise, Ohioans will have to deal with six more weeks of winter.
Buckeye Chuck is also asking fans to support the St. Vincent DePaul Food Pantry. Fans and listeners are encouraged to bring a cash donation or non-perishable food items to Buckeye Chuck’s Groundhog Day Celebration. The first 100 visitors to donate will receive an “iHeart Buckeye Chuck” T-Shirt sponsored by Hessler’s Screen Printing and More. Refreshments from A & M’s Donut Wagon from Crestline will also be available on site.
