The Mochi Ice Cream Company LLC recalled 1350 cases of Peach Mango Sorbet, sold in Pennsylvania, on January 9th due to the undeclared presence of a common allergen.

According to the United States Food & Drug Administration, the recalled products, distributed nationwide, "may contain undeclared pasteurized cooked egg white" which poses the risk of a "serious or life-threatening allergic reaction" to individuals allergic to egg, not listed on the product labels.

Consumers should avoid The Mochi Ice Cream Company's Peach Mango Sorbet cases with lot numbers 337-24 and 341-24. The FDA revealed that the problem occurred as a result of "a temporary breakdown in the company's packaging processes."

So far, there have been two "minor" allergic reactions reported as a result of consuming the mislabeled Peach Mango Sorbet.

Officials are urging consumers who have already purchased a recalled case of The Mochi Ice Cream Company's Peach Mango Sorbet to return the product to the place it was purchase for a full refund and to avoid consumption.

Concerned individuals with questions regarding the mislabeled products (that potentially contain egg whites) are encouraged to contact the company at 1-844-696-6244.

For additional information on the recalled product, check out the official recall on fda.gov.
