WEYMOUTH, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A nurse at South Shore Hospital’s birthing unit has delivered generations of babies over the last 40 years.
But a recently delivered baby turned out to be a living, breathing milestone of Maura Trieber’s decades-long career.
Trieber was Carol Worley’s nurse when she delivered her baby girl Shawn 30 years ago.
Now, three decades later, Trieber had the chance to nurse Shawn, now Shawn Nelson, as she delivered her baby girl, Norah.
Norah is Worley’s first grandchild.
Treiber has celebrated some of her own family milestones at South Shore Hospital, too.
She had one of her fellow nurses, Pamela Simpson, deliver her first child, and decades later Simpson nursed Trieber’s daughter when she had her first child.
Trieber said the care at South Shore hospital’s birthing unit is hard to match.
“You know they're gonna take really good care of you,” she said.
