(Columbia, SC) -- South Carolina lawmakers return to the State House today.
The 2025 legislative session is beginning after Governor McMaster unveiled his executive budget.
The 41.6 billion dollar spending plan for the upcoming fiscal year includes an accelerated income tax cut, raises for teachers, and disaster relief for those impacted by Hurricane Helene.
The House Ways and Means Committee will now need to draft their own version before lawmakers can vote the budget into effect.
