Golf Fan Wins $100K For Impressive Hole-In-One Shot
An amateur golfer pulled off an unbelievable feat by making a hole-in-one over pro golfer Bryson DeChambeau’s Texas home to win a $100-thousand prize. The challenge was inspired by DeChambeau’s viral video from last fall, when he needed 16 days and 134 attempts to make the same shot over his glass-windowed $2-million home. DeChambeau offered the challenge as a way to kick off the New Year, giving a lucky fan, Jimmy Elliot, seven hours to replicate the shot.
DeChambeau thought Elliot had a shot but figured it’d take a while, predicting he might nail it after six hours of effort. The pro explained the ups and downs Elliot was likely to face, including frustration and physical exhaustion. But to everyone’s surprise, he managed to get the hole-in-one on his fifth shot, just six minutes into the challenge, with the ball rolling perfectly into the cup.
The moment was electric. Elliot celebrated wildly, grabbing his lucky ball and thanking DeChambeau for the life-changing opportunity. "This is incredible. Life-changing, man. Thank you," Elliot said, even joking it was up there with his wedding day. DeChambeau was just as blown away, laughing and saying, "It took me 134 frickin balls!"
