RaeLynn shared a stunning rendition of a throwback Jason Aldean single on Instagram on Wednesday morning (January 15).
The former contestant on The Voice covered “The Truth,” a heartache ballad that appeared on Aldean’s 2009 studio record, Wide Open. The 12-track album also included “Crazy Town,” “She’s Country,” “Big Green Tractor” and more. Aldean sings in the breakup ballad that RaeLynn covered on Wednesday: “Just don't tell 'em I've gone crazy/ That I'm still strung out over you/ Tell 'em anything you want to/ Just don't tell 'em all the truth/ Yeah, don't tell 'em all the truth/ ...I still need you.”
RaeLynn wrote in her caption: “Who’s gonna tell 15 year old Rae that learned this song in 2009 on YouTube her dreams are becoming a reality everyday. [Jason Aldean] I’m starting a petition that you put this back in your set.”
RaeLynn is part of the lineup of Aldean’s co-headlining show with Brooks & Dunn, along with Nate Smith. The one-night-only concert will take place on Friday, May 30 at the iconic Fenway Park in Boston, Massachusetts. Aldean said in a statement when he and Brooks & Dunn announced the event earlier this month: “Playing Fenway Park has always been a highlight for me over the years. I love the city of Boston, the people and the energy surrounding the city. Getting to play it with some of my musical heroes, Brooks & Dunn, is going to be one for the ages.”
