'Ominous', 'Evil': Internet Reacts To Trump's Presidential Portrait

The internet is buzzing over President-elect Donald Trump's new official White House portrait.

On Thursday (January 16), Trump's transition team shared his presidential portrait ahead of his swearing-in ceremony on Monday (January 20).

The photo eerily resembled Trump's historic mugshot, which came in August 2023 after the president-elect, who was indicted by a Georgia grand jury on charges related to his attempts to overturn the results of the 2020 election, surrendered to authorities in Atlanta. Similar to his mugshot, Trump's presidential portrait shows him staring at a downward angle with a straight face.

Trump made history as the first president to have a mug shot taken and the first to be convicted of felonies, which are related to a separate criminal case in Manhattan.

The new White House portrait is a far departure from other recent administration photos, which feature the presidents with smiles. Trump even stood tall and smiled wide for his first term portrait.

MAGA followers, who have embraced Trump's mugshot, praised his new portrait, saying it "goes hard." Other social media users pointed out how the photo may be ominous of what Trump's America will look like.

"America, you in danger girl," one social media user wrote.

"Perfect photo for a dictatorship," another person chimed in.

"Perfect representation of the ominous future we have in America over the next 4 years…" a third user commented.

"The evil is giving in that pic. But this is what they wanted 🤷🏽‍♀️," another comment reads.
