ERCOT has issued a weather watch for next week due to the extreme cold weather.
The weather watch is in effect for January 20-23. It's expected there will be a higher electrical demand and the potential for lower reserves across the ERCOT region.
Grid conditions are expected to be normal, however, winter precipitation is likely in southeast Texas with a window of snow fall and freezing rain possible starting Monday night and into Tuesday. There is not expected to be widespread power outages at this time.
Texans should continue to monitor real-time and extended grid conditions at ercot.com. For energy-saving tips, visit ercot.com/txans.
KTRH News will have updates on the forecast on air and at our website starting this weekend and into early next week.
