1 Student Killed, Another Wounded At Antioch High School, Shooter Also Dead

One student was killed and another wounded before a student armed with a gun shot himself. He died at the scene.

"This individual made his way to the cafeteria where he then confronted a 16-year-old who we identified as a female Hispanic student, fired, striking her. She is deceased," said Nashville Police Chief John Drake. "There is another male, a 17-year-old young man, that was wounded with a graze wound and he has been treated at Vanderbilt and released."

Drake says the shooter was a 17-year-old male who rode the bus to Antioch High School.

Initially the school was put on lockdown and the police department's SWAT team later cleared the building.

Buses took students from Antioch High School to Ascension Saint Thomas Hospital, 3754 Murfreesboro Pike, as they were released from the scene by Metro Police.
