GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- Calvin University will inaugurate its 13th president today.
A ceremony will take place at 4 p.m. to install Greg Elzinga as the new leader. He has been the interim president since March 2024, and was appointed by the Board of Trustees in Ocber after a search was conducted.
The ceremony takes place in the Covenant Fine Arts Center on the Calvin campus. Elzinga is a first-generation college graduate and former Calvin student. The university says he brings a "profound vision" of reconciliation and renewal to the presidency.
The inauguration comes as Calvin prepares to celebrate its 150th anniversary.

Elzinga and his wife, Jacqui, enjoy traveling, serving their church, and spending time with their three adult children."
