This week's winter storm reportedly won't damage the Louisiana crawfish crop.
Ashley Soileau, the owner of JT's Seafood in Lake Charles, says the cold weather probably won't kill any crawdads.
Todd Fontenot, crawfish extension agent at the LSU AgCenter, says crawfish ponds would have to freeze solid in order to damage the mud-bug population.
Fontenot and Soileau both say the 2023 drought was a bigger problem in terms of damage to the crawdad crop.
