The people have spoken, and they want Dave Franco to star as the infamous Luigi Mangione who is on trial for the suspected murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson. While there are no projects in the works, Franco revealed he has been on the receiving end of countless texts from people saying he needs to play Mangione.
“Not just friends…anyone who has my phone number has reached out about it," he shares in an interview with “The Hollywood Reporter.” His wife Alison Brie chimed in, agreeing “everyone” has made his likeness to Mangione known to the “21 Jump Street” actor.
Franco laughed at the whole thing, saying “I've never received more texts in my life about anything," but clarified he hasn’t been approached with any official offers. Mangione has been charged with the December 4, 2024, murder of Thompson in Midtown Manhattan. Mangione was arrested on December 9th in Pennsylvania and has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
