Since TikTok is still not available in the App Store, some iPhone owners are selling their devices for hundreds to even thousands of dollars on eBay. These users never removed the popular software during its brief ban in the United States, which allowed for them to still have access while the apps fate has been extended.
President Donald Trump signed an executive order delaying the implementation of the ban, although it is still unclear when TikTok will be available again in app stores. However, a few iPhone customers who have continued to use the program are now selling their new or used devices for as much as $25,000. It is unclear if the iPhones with TikTok installed are selling, but most of the more than 2,000 phones being auctioned on eBay do not have active bids.
One eBay seller in Raleigh, North Carolina, even listed a 128GB iPhone 15 Pro with TikTok and Cap Cut, a video-editing app owned by TikTok's Chinese parent company, ByteDance, installed for more than $4.5 million.
It's clear the social media app has a hold on their daily users as they've had to come to selling their devices for such astronomical numbers but as mentioned above, none of these eBay posts have any active bids.
