Trending News: Target’s DEI Rollback, Boycotts & Trump’s Project 2025

Minneapolis-based Target is planning to phase out its DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) programs that specifically support Black employees, Black-owned businesses, and the LGBTQ+ community. Many Black shoppers took to social media, calling for a boycott of Target stores in response. Social media influencer Tabatha Brand joined the conversation, pointing out that a mass boycott could actually hurt Black-owned brands—like hers—that rely on Target’s shelves for exposure and sales.

Research by Insider shows that nearly eight out of ten U.S. shoppers frequent Target. The average customer is a white suburban mom, 35 to 44 years old, earning about $80,000 a year. Now, the question is, if we decide to boycott Target over this DEI rollback, are we also prepared to boycott every other store that makes similar moves?

Meanwhile, Donald Trump is wasting no time with “Project 2025,” signing a flurry of executive orders just as he promised. While some of his supporters are shocked to see the plan in action, millions of people aren’t surprised at all.
