SUBLIME: Prepping New Album With Jakob Nowell

The new look Sublime are working on a new album.

When Jakob Nowell followed in his father's footsteps last year he initially said he didn't expect to make any new music with Bud Gaugh and Eric Wilson beyond “Feel Like That,” which repurposed an old Sublime demo and used his father's Bradley Nowell's vocals.

A press release from the band says that after spending the year playing his father's songs Jakob Nowell "immersed himself in the Sublime catalog and found a deep sense of connection to his late father. The deeply emotional and powerful experience spawned a collection of new songs inspired by his father’s legacy."

The trio are working on the new album with two well-known musicians -- Travis Barker of Blink-182 and John Feldmann of Goldfinger. Barker says, "Creating music for this album has been so fun and exciting. Bradley comes through his son Jakob while writing in the studio and performing. Chills every day in the studio when he sings and play guitar. This is going to be really special."

The first single from the album will be out this summer.
