President Trump Says He’ll Likely Extend TikTok Reprieve. He's leaning towards extend the TikTok deadline if there's no deal by June 19th. The China-based company, ByteDance was ordered to sell the company to a U.S. backer or be shut down in the states. He told NBC's "Meet the Press" that he has a "sweet spot" for the app after it helped him win over young voters in the 2024 presidential election. At least 170 million Americans use TikTok. TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chew also thanked the president “On behalf of everyone at TikTok and all our users across the country, I want to thank President Trump for his commitment to work with us to find a solution that keeps TikTok available in the United States,”
