A Barnstable County Sheriff's cadet is under arrest after a Sunday night stabbing in Harwich.
Cape and Islands District Attorney Robert Galibois says 26-year-old Tatiana Jacobs of Hyannis has been charged and arraigned in connection with the incident.
According to the preliminary investigation the 33-year-old victim was found with stab wounds on Route 6 near the Route 124 exit and he was taken to a Boston area hospital by MedFlight.
Investigators say earlier that night a man and woman were arguing in Barnstable and the victim's car was found with the windows smashed and the tires flattened.
Jacobs was arraigned in Orleans District Court on Monday on a charge of Armed Assault to Murder.
Sheriff Donna Buckley says Jacobs is now on unpaid leave.
She is being held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing on Friday.
