NDOT says, weather permitting, beginning Friday, May 30th, at 9 p.m., the City of Omaha will close Interstate 480 in both directions for bridge construction at Harney Street.
The closure will continue through Monday, June 2nd, at 6 a.m.
Signs for detour routes will be in place.
Southbound I-480 drivers will be detoured via the Dodge Street exit to 30th Street southbound and reconnect to I-480 at Harney Street.
Northbound traffic can exit at Harney Street, take 28th Street northbound and re-enter 480 after Dodge Street.
NDOT says drivers should anticipate heavier-than-normal traffic along detour routes and are encouraged to seek alternate routes where possible.
This closure is one of several planned weekend closures for the Harney Street Bridge reconstruction project, including girder installation and bridge deck construction.
