Justin Baldoni just hit a major legal roadblock. His $400 million countersuit against Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, and their publicist—plus a separate $250 million lawsuit against The New York Times—has been dismissed by a judge.
Baldoni had accused Lively and Reynolds of extortion and defamation, but the judge ruled that the claims didn’t hold up. However, Baldoni’s legal team can still amend certain claims if they choose to.
Lively had previously filed a lawsuit against Baldoni, alleging sexual harassment and retaliation, which he denies. Her lawyers called his countersuit “vengeful” and “meritless”, while The New York Times stood by its reporting.
