(Mystic, IA) -- A man has been charged with murder following a Tuesday night shooting in southern Iowa that left one person dead and one injured.
Police were called to rural Mystic Iowa around 10:30 p.m. after receiving reports of gunfire. When officers arrived, they found 36-year-old Destry Walker, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
During the homicide investigation, authorities received additional reports of a nearby altercation and a motorcycle crash. Responding officers located 51-year-old Robert Barrell hiding in the weeds near the crash site.
Law enforcement says evidence found at both the site of the shooting an the crash site lead to Barrell's arrest.
Barrell has been charged with first-degree murder and attempted murder. The investigation is ongoing.
