The International Boxing Hall of Fame has announced its Class of 2026 inductees, honoring a diverse group of athletes, trainers, and contributors to the sport. Leading the men's modern category is Gennady "GGG" Golovkin, who dominated the middleweight division for a decade and ended his career with a record of 42-2-1. Joining Golovkin are Antonio Tarver, a former light-heavyweight champion and Olympic bronze medalist, and Nigel Benn, who held titles at middleweight and super-middleweight.
In the women's modern category, Naoko Fujioka, a five-division champion from Japan, and Jackie Nava, a bantamweight and super-bantamweight titleholder, are being recognized. The non-participant category includes trainer and cut man Russ Anber, referee Frank Cappuccino, trainer and cut man Jimmy Glenn, and physician Edwin "Flip" Homansky. Journalist Kevin Iole and broadcaster Alex Wallau are being honored in the observer category, while Jimmy Clabby is recognized in the old-timer category.
The Hall of Fame's annual induction weekend is scheduled for June 11-14, 2026, with events taking place in Canastota and at the Turning Stone Resort Casino in Verona. The induction ceremony will be held on June 14 at the Turning Stone. Golovkin, who made his U.S. debut at the Turning Stone, defended his World Boxing Association middleweight title there with a fifth-round TKO in 2012.
More details about the induction weekend's events will be announced closer to the date.
