(Polk County, IA) -- A central Iowa woman is sentenced after pleading guilty to vehicular homicide.
On Friday, a judge sentenced 42 year-old Abby Amenson of Polk City to up to 25 years in prison after she pleaded guilty to driving while high on methamphetamine, crossing the center lane, and crashing into an SUV on July 7th of last year. Her 10 year-old son was killed in the crash, and a child in the SUV sustained minor injuries.
Amenson must also pay $150,000 to her son's estate.
