Lend a Helping Can raises money for 12 New England charitable agencies to feed the Needy and Homeless.

 

Tarczy highlights day two in Reno

RENO, Nev. - The Fresno State track and field team had another successful day at the Silver State Invite and Combined Events in Reno on Friday.

Not skipping a beat, junior Liz Tarczy won the high jump with a personal best indoor mark of 1.82m/5-11.5 on her third attempt. The reigning Mountain West indoor and outdoor champion eyes the program record as she inches closer to the top mark that hasn't been touched since 1988.

Maria Lawson also saw a personal best in the weight throw at 18.20m/59-8.5 to take second in the event. Lawson saw her farthest throw since the 2024 indoor championships, and exploded her personal best by nearly two inches. The senior hit her personal best on her third attempt on Friday.

A pair of Bulldogs made the long jump finals on Friday. Matilde Guarino finished fifth with a jump of 5.79m/19-0 and Janae Heffernan took sixth with a jump of 5.72m/18-9.25.

Leonie Steinebach tied for fourth in the high jump with a jump of 1.62m/5-0.75.
