Bulldogs wrap up Toyota U.S. Open

AUSTIN, Texas - The Fresno State swim team completed the final day of the Toyota U.S. Open Championship and the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swim Center on Saturday night.

How it happened

Ryley Clark got the show started for the Bulldogs. In her only event of the meet, the freshman comfortably qualified into the consolation final of the 200-meter backstroke. Clark finished eleventh in the preliminaries session with a time of 2:16.84. The Arizona native showed out in the finals session, shaving off a second to touch third in the B final and 11th in the event (2:15.21).

Aliz Kalmar made her third return to a championship A final in the 200-meter breaststroke, while Jenna Pulkkinen saw another consolation final. Mackenzie Miller Lung fell out of qualifying contention, taking 26th in the prelims with a time of 2:39.27.

In finals, Pulkkinen picked up the pace, turning off the final wall to touch third in the heat and finishing 12th in the event. Kalmar faced tougher competition in the championship final with Olympians Douglas and Walsh. The senior finished sixth in the event with a time of 2:29.34.
