A long time ago, when the holidays came around I remember my grandmother always giving us (my brother, and my sister) a card with cash. It was $5, but that $5 was a lot for her to give us each. But it meant freedom to get what we wanted. Even though she knew us and what we liked, even if we didn't have much, she still gave us the $5 for every gift.
So fast forward to today, grandmaw is long gone, and now we exchange cards or visits to each other. Not a bad way to spend the holidays. But cash is nice.
So what do American's want for the holidays? Cash or gifts?
A survey of 5,000 Americans reveals that 58% want cash for the holidays, hoping for an average of just over $600.
Wearables and accessories ranked second at 29%, while bill payments came third at 21%. Americans plan to spend almost $1,120 on presents this year, with millennials averaging $1,369 and baby boomers $842. See more on this from talkerresearch.com
No matter what you get, if anything. It's supposed to be a time to spend with family, and reflect on the year together and go over memories. But lets be real, I really would like a PS5
