Seventy-Year-Old Man Dies After Being Struck By Vehicle In Hopkinton

A 70-year-old man is dead after being struck by a vehicle in Hopkinton.

Police allege that 41-year-old Shannon Godbout was traveling eastbound on Spring Street when she left her lane and struck several objects, including two telephone poles and the man who was walking his dogs.

Roderick Macleod was taken to Rhode Island Hospital, but he died from his injuries.

Police say Godbout was in possession of narcotics and packaging materials associated with drug distribution and she was placed under arrest. Police say Godbout's criminal history includes more than 100 arrests, with eight of them from the Hopkinton Police Department.

Eighty-two court warrants have previously been issued for Godbout and she has received 40 traffic citations.
