Flea unveiled the first taste of what’s to come with the eight-minute, jazz-inflected single A Plea. On the track he handles bass, trumpet, and vocals, backed by a stellar ensemble of modern jazz players including double bassist Anna Butterss, guitarist Jeff Parker, drummer Deantoni Parks, percussionist Mauro Refosco, flutist Rickey Washington, and trombonist Vikram Devasthali — with additional vocals and sax from producer Josh Johnson.
