Maddie & Tae shared a heartfelt message to their fans after confirming their split as a duo earlier this week.

Maddie Font and Taylor Kerr, both 30, confirmed to PEOPLE that they’re going their separate ways after 15 years together. Font will continue her music career solo, while Kerr opted to place “her career on hold for the foreseeable future to focus on her family,” the report published Monday (December 8) stated. Still, the pair said they’ll remain friends, and will continue to perform their final shows together over the next several months.

“Thank y’all for all the sweet comments and all the love,” Maddie & Tae posted on Wednesday (December 10). “We are so excited to make our last couple of shows as magical as possible with yall 🥹 it’s truly means the world how much love yall have showered us in this week and all the encouragement as we start a brand new chapter. We will go through this heartbreak together like we always do hunnies 😂🤍🤟🏼”

Font and Kerr met through their vocal coach in 2010. They released their self-titled EP and breakout single, “Girl in a Country Song,” in 2014. The duo’s debut record arrived in 2015, and over the years, they’ve become known for “Die From A Broken Heart,” “Heart They Didn’t Break,” “Woman You Got” and more. They’ve also started their families in recent years. Kerr and her husband, Josh Kerr, welcomed daughter Leighton Grace in January 2022. Baby No. 2, son Chapel Shields, followed in October 2024. Font and husband Jonah Font welcomed son Forrest Henry in September 2023.

“Thank you for all the love as we step into this new bittersweet chapter,” Maddie & Tae shared on Instagram after confirming their decision to part ways earlier this week. “We both feel overwhelmed with gratitude for what we’ve built with y’all the last 12 years. Thank you for making our wildest dreams come true and we hope you stay close by to watch us chase some new dreams 🤍 We love you so much and hope you still come shake ya booty with us on tour next year 🤟🏼”
