Jared Clark, a 32-year-old from Hummelstown, Pennsylvania, faces multiple charges after allegedly assaulting a woman and kidnapping a two-year-old child in Dauphin County. The incident occurred on Monday evening (December 8) in Upper Paxton Township. According to Local 21 News, Clark reportedly broke into the woman's home, assaulted her, and took her child.

The police report states that Clark kicked in the back door of the home and physically assaulted the mother, including punching her and pushing her to the ground. He then took her cellphone, preventing her from calling for help. The mother managed to go to a neighbor's house to call 911. She later returned to the home with her daughter while on the phone with emergency services. Clark allegedly took the child from her arms and drove off with her, placing the child on the center console of his vehicle without a safety seat.

Middletown police apprehended Clark around 8 p.m. during a traffic stop, finding the child in the car. The toddler was safely returned home. Clark now faces charges including strangulation, kidnapping, burglary, and endangering the welfare of a child. He is being held at Dauphin County Prison on a $10,000 bail, as reported by PennLive.

Clark's preliminary hearing is scheduled for December 17 before Magisterial District Judge Rebecca Margerum. The police have not disclosed any relationship between Clark and the victims.
