Tuesday night, President Trump addressed supporters at Mount Airy Resort in Monroe County. Now comes word Vice President JD Vance is expected to give a speech in the Allentown area sometime next week. There's no word yet on any details, however the vice president's office is confirming he will appear in Allentown.

Two people are dead after a crash in Monroe County. The crash happened around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday along Frantz Hill Road in Pocono Township. Two New York residents were killed in the crash, which remains under investigation.

Pennsylvania American Water is urging water conservation following the expansion of a drought watch. The utility company is asking customers in the drought watch area to voluntarily reduce non-essential water usage by 10-to-15 percent. The Department of Environmental Protection has declared a drought watch in 17 counties served by PAW, including Northampton, Monroe, and Schuylkill. The company said it currently has an adequate supply of water to meet the needs of customers, but wants to be prepared in case conditions worsen.

Thanks to winter weather, Allentown City Council cancelled its Wednesday evening meeting, when it was scheduled to finalize the city’s 2026 budget. The meeting has been rescheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 16. Mayor Matt Tuerk and a majority of council members are at odds over a proposed tax increase in the budget. City Council in a 5-2 vote last month stripped the 4% property tax increase proposed by Tuerk.

We got a touch of snow last evening and Accu-Weather's Joe Lundberg says we might get more this weekend. "Later Saturday night and early Sunday, it looks like there's going to be a couple inches of snow with that," Lundberg says. Whatever snow falls this weekend might stick around awhile, because afternoon high temperatures might not get above freezing until Wednesday of next week.

Users of sports betting sites in Pennsylvania are just weeks away from being required to identify themselves before placing wagers online. Officials with the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board say new regulations will be in place for everyone in the state on platforms like DraftKings and FanDuel by the end of February. Users will have to upload photos of their government ID when they set up accounts and they will need to complete a "liveness check" as well. This is done by taking a selfie and recording a video clip that can be checked against the uploaded ID.

New Jersey Governor- elect Mikie Sherrill pledges to continue improving maternal health outcomes across the state, building on the progress Governor Murphy's administration has made. Sherrill spoke yesterday at the annual Nurture NJ Leadership summit that began under First Lady Tammy Murphy eight years ago. Tammy Murphy says New Jersey was in a crisis when the administration took office but improved its maternal mortality ranking from 47th in the nation to 25th following a series of initiatives over the last eight years. She also notes a great improvement in breastfeeding, use of paid family leave and maternal morbidity rate.

A day after agreeing to a five-year, $150 million deal, Phillies designated hitter Kyle Schwarber explained why he's remaining a Phillie. "You hope as a player you leave a mark on your organization and the fan base. I'm glad that I'm going to have five more years to do that here in Philadelphia," Schwarber said. Schwarber says his goal remains the same: winning a World Series in Philadelphia.

The coaching staff carousel continues at Penn State. ESPN reports defensive coordinator Jim Knowles is negotiating a buyout and is expected to become the D-C at Tennessee. Knowles spent one season in Happy Valley after a three-year stint as the defensive coordinator at Ohio State.
