Jessie Murph Explains Why She Doesn't Like To Perform Her Hits

Jessie Murph is closing out a massive year in style at the 2025 iHeartRadio Z100 Jingle Ball presented by Capital One, and during a candid stop at the Mercedes-Benz Interview Lounge backstage, she gave fans an honest look into her music, her mindset, and what she’s dreaming about next.

With her sophomore album Sex Hysteria now out, Jessie has been experimenting across genres, blending hip-hop, pop, and emotional storytelling. But when it comes to performing live, she knows exactly what she loves most. “I like to play big ballads. I love to really sing,” she shared. While upbeat tracks still have their place, those emotionally charged moments onstage are where she feels most at home.

In fact, Jessie didn’t hold back when talking about performing her biggest hits. “I actually really hate performing my hitters,” she admitted with a laugh. “I like to be emotive, and it’s hard when I’m like ‘Blue Strips,’ you know. It gets weird.” It’s a refreshingly honest take that shows just how much she values raw emotion over hype.

Being on the iHeartRadio Jingle Ball tour has also put Jessie around artists she’s admired for years — and she already has someone in mind for a future collaboration. “I’ve always been a big fan of Nelly,” she said, quickly making it clear that the pick felt right.

Looking ahead to next year, Jessie teased something big — and deeply personal. “It’s like a type of show that I’ve wanted to do my whole life, and that’s something that I think might happen,” she revealed. While she kept details under wraps, she confirmed fans should expect it toward the end of next year, alongside “lots of music.”

To relive the holiday magic, iHeartRadio is partnering with ABC to bring the iHeartRadio Jingle Ball Tour to even more fans across the country, as an exclusive network special will be aired on December 17th and next day on Hulu.
