Tis the season for indulgence, from Christmas cookies to making a meal out of a charcuterie chalet at a holiday party. And don’t forget about all the seasonal beverages to sip on this time of year, as you can’t really have festive merriment without them. While there are all kinds of fun, festive drinks to choose from, Americans love a classic one most, according to new research.
- A new report from Coffeeness ranks the top holiday beverage in each state, based on Google search data, and the study includes both boozy and non-alcoholic drinks.
- So, what is the most popular one in the country? The traditional hot chocolate tops the list, winning in 13 states.
- Another classic, apple cider, is a close second with 11 states. The Espresso Martini ties for number two, also winning 11 states.
- It turns out, regional preferences vary a lot, and the South has the most diverse mix. Favorites in this part of the country range from French 75s to Winter Aperol Spritzes.
- Midwesterners tend to prefer traditional cold-weather comfort drinks, like hot chocolate and hot toddies.
- In two warm-weather states, Arizona and Hawaii, they consider the Mimosa a holiday cocktail.
