While driving with his family last week, an off-duty firefighter in Ohio noticed smoke rising from a nearby home.
After learning that a dog was still inside, Dillon Harris, who serves with the Euclid Fire Department, rushed in with another bystander and freed the pup before crews arrived.
The dog made it out safely, and Harris assisted at the scene until on-duty firefighters took over, then returned home to continue celebrating his son’s birthday.
