When a sudden car crash took the life of Randy Fyllesvold, a beloved farmer and friend in the small community of Antler, North Dakota, his family was left grieving and overwhelmed, including his wife Kharra and their two sons.
With 1,400 acres of corn and soybeans still standing in the fields, the task ahead felt impossible. That’s when Randy’s friends and neighbors quietly decided to step in and help finish what he had started.
In a powerful display of community and love, more than 75 volunteers showed up with 12 combines, grain carts, and over 40 trucks to harvest Randy’s final crop in just a couple of days.
Watching the fields come to life with people who loved her husband brought Kharra both peace and comfort during an unimaginable time. She says she’ll never forget the kindness shown to her family and believes Randy would be incredibly proud.
