Dauphin County Business Owner Faces Rape Charges

A business owner in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, Lyle Voorhees, is accused of raping a new employee. The 59-year-old owner of Harrisburg Tree Service allegedly assaulted the woman, who was on a prison work release program, on her second day at work. According to ABC27, Voorhees met the woman at a PennDOT office in October and offered her a job to help fulfill her work release requirements.

The alleged incident occurred in a supply trailer on the company's property. The woman reported that Voorhees threatened her, saying he would use his resources to send her back to jail if she reported the assault. GPS records from her ankle monitor confirmed her presence at the location during the alleged attack, as PennLive reported.

After the incident, the woman continued working out of fear. She left a note for Voorhees expressing her intention to report him, leading to her dismissal the following day. The police collected evidence, including a shirt with stains consistent with bodily fluids. Voorhees, who is currently serving a sentence for unrelated fraud charges, is scheduled for arraignment on two felony rape charges today (December 17).
