Iowa National Guard to Receive Funding as Part of Defense Spending Bill

(Iowa) -- The U.S. Senate is working to finalize the annual defense spending bill, which includes funding for the Iowa National Guard.

“I secured multiple provisions to strengthen our defense and invest in Iowa’s military installations. That includes authorizing funding for the Iowa National Guard runway project in Sioux City and the vehicle maintenance shop at the Waterloo Armory,” said Iowa U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley.

He noted that the Senate passes the National Defense Authorization Act every year and hasn’t missed passing the legislation since 1961.
