Miami-Dade, FL - A domestic dispute inside a Miami-Dade home allegedly escalated into violence, leading to the arrest of a local woman accused of assaulting her teenage son.
According to an arrest report from the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a residence Monday night after receiving a call regarding a family disturbance.
Investigators say the incident began when the mother became upset that her son had not completed household chores.
Deputies allege she woke him after he had gone to bed and instructed him to wash dishes.
During the interaction, the teen reportedly dropped a metal fork.
Authorities allege the woman picked up the utensil and threw it toward his face, though he was not struck.

The report further states she then grabbed a broomstick and struck him multiple times, causing visible bruising on both forearms, his upper arm, and his chest.
Deputies also allege the woman ordered her son to clean the bathroom and later sprayed glass cleaner directly into his face, resulting in eye irritation and redness.
Law enforcement documented the injuries during their on scene investigation, according to the report.
The suspect denied physically assaulting her son and claimed the confrontation stemmed from a disagreement over chores and restrictions on his activities.
She told deputies she did not know how the injuries occurred.
The woman was taken into custody and booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
Jail records show she faces charges that include aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, and two counts of battery.
Bond had not been set as of the latest update.
The case remains under review as prosecutors determine next steps.
